A simple poster with these words on it: Hi there! Do you have a wee baby and are looking for some extra help, either during the day or overnight? I'm a deeply experienced full-time childcare provider and the founder of Wild Child Nature Playgroup, a nonprofit nature-based group in Victoria. After over a decade of supporting children from newborn to age five, I’m now expanding into postpartum doula work. I feel very passionate about supporting parents through the transition of welcoming a new babe into your home. My experience: - 10+ years of one-on-one childcare experience, including extensive newborn care - Full-time nanny and caregiver for 5 years - Founder and manager of Wild Child Nature Playgroup - Practicum experience in nature-based, Waldorf, and Montessori-inspired early childhood programs Credentials: - Early Childhood Education (ECE) license & diploma - CPR & First Aid Certified - Currently completing formal Birth and Postpartum Doula training through Doula School Canada - Ongoing professional development in: - Waldorf and attachment-based caregiving - Indigenous ways of knowing and being in early childhood My approach: My care is rooted in attachment theory and I draw a lot of inspiration from Waldorf philosophy. My goal is to help families understand and respond accordingly to their baby’s cues. I also love to support families with baby-wearing, ensuring safe and comfortable carrier use. Additionally, I offer car seat safety guidance. I can help you make sure your car seat is installed correctly and your little one is buckled in just right. I bring a calm, experienced, and non-judgmental presence to your home and focus on helping you feel rested and supportive. What to expect: In our first meeting, we’ll talk about what you’re hoping to get out of this experience and how I can best support you and your baby. We’ll create a care plan that reflects your values, routines, and needs. I can: - Provide guidance on babywearing, car seat safety, and safe sleep practices - Help organize baby gear and organize baby’s space - Offer insight on what to expect as your baby grows and what you may need - Take baby out for a walk so you can rest or have time to yourself - Care for older siblings alongside your newborn - Grocery shop, prep meals, and do light cleaning If it’s an overnight shift, once your baby is asleep, you can expect me to: - Wash dishes, clean bottles, tidy up, and do children’s laundry - Offer breastfeeding support, whether that means bringing baby to you or feeding pumped milk based on your preferences I’m happy to provide references and a current Criminal Record Check upon request. PM me for rates and availability. I’d love to connect.
