Do the whole thing for me Leadership and Social Action Poster Presentations Students will pick a social issue they care about and thoroughly research diverse approaches to the problem, focusing on leadership practices and principles enacted as people work to make social change. Students will explore the following questions and add them to their leadership poster. 1. 2. 3. Who are the key players, organizations, and policies involved? Do different factions and organizations fit neatly into any of the leadership theories discussed in class, or have they evolved their own approaches? What are the slogans and PR campaigns being conducted on behalf of this issue? 3 4. 5. Do the language and images used match the values of those working towards the change? What suggestions do you have for increasing effective action? Students will create and display a trifold cardboard poster board communicating the above information. Asset maps, diagrams, images, and interactive elements (quizzes, case studies, petitions, handouts, etc.) will all increase the viewer's engagement with the subject matter. There will be two days of seminars evenly split among all the teams. Teams will display their poster. Teams will have 10 minutes to present their Social Action Poster Presentation and state their case. A Q&A session will follow after all teams have presented. The class will then have time to review the poster gallery style and add comments to each team's seminar poster. Posters that receive more thoughtful comments will receive stronger grades.
